Nymphs are in the Greek mythology nature god's from a lower range.
Every source, mountain, river or tree has it's own Nymph. This is
a Dryaden, a Forest Nymph. Nymph's have a peaceful character. As
reclusive creatures, most Forest Nymphs are never seen by mortals.
Because of the deep empathy that Nymphs share with life, they have
a supernatural awareness of their surroundings.
Faeries, pixies, and sprites are basically the same thing. A Nymph
is more like a small beautiful woman. As far as I know, faeries,
pixies, and sprites are the same thing, just a different name used
for them. Their colorings are brown, black, or auburn hair with
gray, green, or blue eyes and a tanned skin tone. I have some doubts
if they have wings or not. I painted one without.
About this picture: I used a black-white photo as a reference, and
drawed the Nymph myself (which was quite hard to turn into color).
The Background is a photomanipulation.
